“A space of reflection and connection”

The Labyrinth at Blackberry Mountain was designed as a space of reflection and connection. Inspired by the idea of a clock, the artist, Thea Alvin, affectionately called it ‘Time for Love’, a symbol of remembrance, cycles, seasons, the essence of a person and making time for the things that are most important.

Labyrinths are a beautiful and mysterious symbol throughout history, appearing in legends of Greek mythology and used as a metaphor for pilgrimage in some religions. Today, labyrinths are often utilized as space of support for mindfulness and meditation, an opportunity to explore presence, clarity or personal spiritual journey.

…an opportunity to explore presence, clarity, or personal spiritual journey.

Composed of one thousand feet of stone, and lovingly and thoughtfully constructed over three thousand hours, The Labyrinth experience envelopes you in nature’s purest elements. The shifting rocks underfoot allow you to sink into the earth and set a pace of discovery. Far from confining, the undulating rock walls guide you as you take in the limitless mountain and open sky view surrounding you.

The Labyrinth is a standing invitation, an open door, to a path of wonder. It is a guide to centering and grounding your spirit,

a route to openness and peace.
