Arch Build at North House Folk School

At the edge of Lake Superior, this class will encompass stone wall and arch building, at a private host home. We will explore lake side construction techniques working within the confines of the local stone, Virgina Slate.

The mission of the North House Folk School:

to enrich lives and build community by teaching traditional northern crafts in a student-centered learning environment that inspires the hands, the heart and the mind.

We will build on these principals with stone in hand, a strong curiosity, and a buoyant heart.

The culmination of the workshop will be a gathering of like minds over the weekend in a Sustainability Symposium, where I will talk about living artfully and how art as a major component of life is both the foundation and the pinnacle of living wholly...

"Artful living enriches and invigorates, challenges and stimulates our existence."
